Diosdado Macapagal Bridge

According To there Website:The Diosdado Macapagal Bridge is the longest bridge in Mindanao, which is 3 kilometers upstream of the old Magsaysay Bridge and provides an alternate route across the Agusan River to connect the Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway (Surigao-Agusan-Davao road) and the Butuan City-Cagayan-Iligan road. The bridge is gaining popularity as the only cable stayed bridge with steel deck and single tower in Mindanao, and it has a total length of about 10.30 kilometers.

It was during the Presidency of Joseph estrada that the project was approved which was lobbied by the city government way back President Fidel Ramos' time to decongest the traffic of the more than 50 year old Magsaysay Bridge and create an alternate route. However, it was President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who approved and implemented the project. The bridge was funded through a Special Yen Loan Package from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). The project was started on May 6, 2004 and completed in May 2007.
The Diosdado Macapagal Bridge is envisioned to provide a more reliable infrastructure with greater design and safer traffic measures while the Butuan City Bypass Road will divert the traffic passing through the core of the city. The overall infrastructure project will enhance the urban transport needs for commerce and industries in the CARAGA region by sustaining the efficient flow of people, goods and services among the major growth centres in the eastern part of Mindanao.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo inaugurated the newly-completed 2.2 –billion Diosdado Macapagal Bridge and the Butuan Bypass Road project on July 10, 2007, touted by the Butuanons as a "legacy that would last a hundred years and make life easier for the whole of the CARAGA Growth Area."

Having a figurative and literal symbolism, Diosdado Macapagal Bridge stands as the symbol of the "connection and friendship" between the people of Japan and of the Philippines. It also symbolizes the path to improvement and economic stability for the Filipinos.




BUTUAN CAPITOL

According in the website of Provincial capitol,Agusan Del Norte:Agusan del Norte is the northwesternmost province of the Caraga Region. On June 17, 1967, upon the enactment of Republic Act No. 4979, the former province of Agusan was split into two, Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur. The Municipalities of Carmen, Nasipit, Buenavista, Cabadbaran, Tubay, Jabonga, Kitcharao, and Las Nieves comprised Agusan del Norte. Butuan City was retained as the capital.
Under Dean C. Worcester, the Philippine Commission by virtue of Act No. 1693 created the province of Agusan on August 20, 1907. The new province was composed of the sub-provinces of Butuan and Malaybalay.
RA 4979 was authored by Congressman Jose C. Aquino, the last governor of the undivided province. The first governor of the new province is Consuelo Calo, Aquino’s vice governor. She held the position from 1967 up to 1986.
Although Republic Act No. 8811 was signed into law on August 16, 2000, transferring the capital and seat of government to Cabadbaran City, Butuan is still the de facto capital. The capitol was built in 1951, under Governor Servano Jongko, in a sprawling lot donated by the first governor of Agusan, Teofisto Guingona, Sr.
     Last December 02,2016 the opening of Christmas light in Provincial Capitol,Agusan Del Norte,Found in Butuan. It's so very beautiful of firework that often lighting of that time,and the Decoration was so very nice after they switch the  Christmas light...

History of National Museum in Butuan

The Balanghai Shrine is about 5 kilometers from Butuan City proper. The shrine was established to ensure the proper protection and preservation of the balanghai boats also known as Butuan Boats, declared National Cultural Treasure on March 9, 1987 by then President Corazon C. Aquino. Felix A. Luna, a resident in the area, made the establishment of the shrine possible with his donation of land in 1979."
"To date, there are nine balanghais known to exist. Three have been excavated and conserved by the National Museum, one totally destroyed by gold panners and five are “in situE The prohibitive costs of conservation prevented the Museum from retrieving the other balanghais. Giving recognition to such a rare cultural heritage, one is at the site while another is on exhibit at the National Museum in Manila."


Basically, the Museum was founded on the left of Butuan City Hall now ... If you want to visit there, you can see any old thing / that the material used in our ancestors from centuries old, you can see oldest wood used for making boats com, now this time is moderate ... it can give us an idea of ​​what they do before we are born. Saint Joseph Cathedral in Butuan


According to the website of Saint Joseph in butuan that: The Cathedral of St. Joseph is considered as one of the main churches in the historic city of Butuan in the Philippines; the other one is Sto. NiƱo Shrine located in Libertad. On May 19, 2009, Rev. Father Siegfred Dosdos read the Decree of Establishment of St. Joseph Cathedralas a Diocesan Shrine during Pontifical Fiesta Mass.The declaration of the Saint Joseph Cathedral was approved by His Excellency Juan de Dios Mataflorida Pueblos, Catholic Bishop of Butuan and Parish Priest of the Cathedral.Aside from the fact that the church in Butuan was the first church established in the Mindanao region, to many of the Roman Catholic devotees of Butuan City this is another achievement which they will pass to the next generation.
During that Pontifical Fiesta Mass, Bishop Juan de Dios Pueblos handed over the cane of St. Joseph, which symbolizes the identification of Congressman Jose Aquino II and wife Salome as the new Hermano and Hermana Mayor of the Diocesan Shrine.The Parish Church of St. Joseph in Butuan City already had its milestones. The First Easter Mass was celebrated in 1521, the Mission was founded by the Jesuits in 1596, the Blessing of the First church in Mindanao was in 1597, St. Joseph became the Titular Patron in 1622, St. Francis de Sales became the Second patron in 1792, the Blessing of the old parish church was in 1883, the consecration of the present church was in 1954, it was elevated to a cathedral by Pope Paul VI in 1967, it was appointed as church for the great jubilee in year 2000 and it became a dedicated cathedral as declared by Ricardo Cardinal Vidal in 2007.





The beauty of this place where you are comfortable here.It's the house of our Lord which is a sanctuary for the worship of God, so. Last time I experienced that I was in trouble, so I went to church to pray, but I admit, I felt light I feel when I go there.




Many people come here to pray, During 12 am church bells were ringing and the start of the Mass and adoration. Many saints there and you see the statue of Jesus, where he was crucified and I remembered how Jesus sacrificed his life for us.
